Community Pharmacy Wales: Adjustment To Practice Payments
In November 2023, when the Welsh Government awarded additional 2023/24 CPCF funding of £6.3m, it was agreed to keep practice payments under review to deliver the agreed CPCF quantum of £165.134m.
Based on the month 9 (December 2023) prescription and service data , the Welsh Government, in consultation with CPW, have now had the opportunity to estimate the CPCF outturn for the current financial year and have identified a need to increase practice payments to address a potential underspend of £1.2m.
As a result, it has been calculated that it is necessary to increase practice payments to 47.3p for the period 1 February to 31 March 2024.
CPW wishes to remind contractors that, whilst the change to practice payments will at this stage apply until the end of the financial year, it will be necessary to keep payments under review and where necessary make any further adjustments in early 2024/25.
