Mandatory workforce survey opens: England
The 2025 Community Pharmacy Workforce Survey opened on 22nd September 2025. Its completion has been made a mandatory requirement of the Terms of Service from 1st October 2022.
All pharmacy contractors are required to submit data via the survey during an eight-week submission period which closes on 21st November 2025.
The survey is the same as last year’s survey, with questions about the number of full-time equivalents (FTE) and vacancies within ten different types of staff (including pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dispensing assistants, medicines counter assistants and delivery drivers).
NHS England has produced some FAQs to help with completing the survey.
Pharmacy contractors should have been contacted via email by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) with a link to complete the survey online. Multiple pharmacy groups will be able to submit data via their head office.
