Changes to Terms of Service
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), NHS England and the PSNC have agreed some changes to the Terms of Service for community pharmacies.
- Mandatory completion of the annual Health Education England (HEE) community pharmacy workforce survey. This will provide a full picture of the workforce and help to identify numbers of vacancies and regions where these are particularly hard to fill. This will be a requirement of the Terms of Service from 1st October 2022
- Removal of the requirement to undertake a Patient Satisfaction Survey. In recognition of the workload associated with completing the annual workforce survey, the PSNC has negotiated with the DHSC and NHS England to remove the requirement to complete this survey. This will be removed from the Terms of Service from 1st October 2022, meaning that it will no longer apply to contractors for 2022/23 and going forward.
In preparation for completion of the annual workforce survey, members can visit the HEE webpages and view the findings of the previous surveys completed in 2017 and 2021. The survey will launch in the autumn and pharmacies will be contacted by NHSBSA to complete an online survey or by data collection at a Head Office level. The survey will be open for a period of eight weeks and will ask questions about the number and full time equivalent of ten different types of staff employed within pharmacies.
