The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have issued a Serious Shortage Protocol (SSP) for Paracetamol 120mg and 240mg suppositories in response to a significant ongoing supply disruption.

SSP015 for Paracetamol 120mg and 240mg suppositories will be in operation from January 25th 2022 to February 18th 2022

It allows pharmacies to supply:

  • 1x125mg Paracetamol suppository as a replacement for 1x120mg Paracetamol suppository, if unobtainable.
  • 1x250mg Paracetamol suppository as a replacement for 1x240mg Paracetamol suppository, if unobtainable
