Review of Standard Operating Procedures to incorporate FMD

The Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) comes into effect on 9 February 2019. The directive will require pharmacy teams to include additional steps in their dispensing processes which must be detailed into pharmacy SOPs.

In order to comply with the NHS Recommendations for the Retention of Pharmacy Records contractors should ensure that they retain copies of obsolete SOPs for a period of 15 years from the point of review.
