Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the umbrella term used to describe heart and circulatory
disease.

This includes all the conditions found at birth or inherited, right through to conditions
which have already been developed such as heart failure and stroke. According to the British
Heart Foundation (BHF), CVD steals nearly 160,000 lives each year which is on average, 435
people each day, taking them away from their nearest and dearest.
