Pharmacy key workers - letter for supermarkets

  • Wales
  • England

In response to problems encountered by pharmacy staff when trying to access the dedicated time slots for supermarket shopping for NHS workers, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has issued a letter that can be in conjunction with staff ID badges or other form of identification from their employer.

Many pharmacy staff have not been able to utilise the time slots as supermarkets are using NHS ID badges or smartcards as proof to gain entry.

Sandra Gidley, the RPS president, has written to the British Retail Consortium to ask them to accept alternative forms of identification from the pharmacy staff’s employer along with the RPS letter which needs to contain a workplace stamp.
