In order to deliver the NMS, pharmacists will need to have been accredited for MURs and be able to self certify that they are knowledgeable to do the NMS.
This self certification will involve the pharmacist completing a declaration form, which will be available on the PSNC website.
There will be no mandatory training required delivering the NMS as such, but CPPE will be producing an open learning resource for pharmacists to work through should they wish to do so.The resource will be mailed to every pharmacist in England towards the end of August; a downloadable copy will be available for technicians if required.The resource is an excellent piece of work and it is recommended reading.
CPPE will not however, be running any local workshops. For those pharmacists who may benefit from attending face to face training our workshops will look at the service specification as well as the practical delivery of it including the recording of the patient outcomes.
