When your PMR system has been upgraded for EPS Release 2, you will have access to the Personal Demographic Service (PDS), an electronic NHS database of all patients in the UK.
You need to access the PDS through your PMR system to electronically register the patient nominations you have collected.

You can search for a patient's record on the PDS by:
- Manually searching for the record.
- Using an existing EPS Release 1 prescription.
- Using the patients NHS number.
GPs and appliance contractors also have access to the PDS and a patient's nomination can be set, changed or deleted by any EPS Release 2 enabled dispensing contractor or GP Practice.
