What do I need to do to get started?

Your premises must meet the requirements for providing an MUR service.
The pharmacist delivering the interventions must be MUR accredited. Visit the WCPPE or Chemist and druggist websites to find out how to become MUR accredited.
You need to ensure that your premises are on the NHS Shared Services Partnership approved MUR pharmacy list.

An SOP must be in place.
All dispensing staff must understand the aim of the service, the SOP and their role in delivering the service.
You must notify your LHB that you will be providing the service.
You must comply with the clinical governance regulations for essential services.
The DMR Service declaration form must be completed.
Start recruiting patients; you can use promotional materials such as posters and leaflets to advertise the service to patients. Numark will be providing all its Welsh members with a support pack and there will also be materials available from CPW.
Engage with local GPs and secondary care settings to let them know you are providing the service (materials available within the support pack).
Download sufficient copies of the relevant paperwork such as DMR 1 form.
