Purpose of SOP

• To offer a home delivery service to patients
• To ensure that patients receiving their medication via a home delivery service scheme receive the best possible pharmaceutical care
• To ensure a regular review of patients offered a delivery service and to assess the need for direct pharmacist to patient contact
• To ensure that any advertisements of the service in surgery is aimed at raising awareness of the Pharmacy service, by way of leaflets/posters
• To ensure that all deliveries are ‘authorised’ i.e. delivered with the consent of patient/carer
