As you may be aware there have been recent contractor meetings to discuss the planned changes to the Community Pharmacy Contract in Wales.
These changes are still waiting sign off by the Welsh Assembly Government but to support you we have produced a brief summary. Please note that details may be subject to change pending official announcement.
There are three proposed elements to the changes; additional requirements for clinical governance, the introduction of targeted medicines use reviews and a possible new post discharge medicines service (PDMS).
What will Numark do to help me?
Numark are currently working to provide marketing materials, patient information, staff information, tools to engage GPS and secondary care as well as SOPs and suggested workflow.
The changes to clinical governance are likely to mirror those England and will need to be implemented by 1st April 2012.
