John D'Arcy, LLB BPharm MRPharmS.
John read pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, University of London. He was awarded a BPharm in 1980 and did his pre-registration year at Ealing Hospital.
After a succession of community pharmacy management positions he joined the NPA as Pharmacist Administrator in 1990.
He read Law as an external student of the University of London and was awarded an LLB in 1994.
He was appointed Deputy Director in 1995 and Chief Executive in November 1996.
In 1998 John D'Arcy was appointed by the Secretary of State for Health to the Standing Pharmaceutical Advisory Committee.
He was Chairman of the Trade Association Forum 2005-2007.
He has been on number of consultative groups including the Department of Health's Medicines Management Advisory Group, the Cabinet Office and Department of Health GP Task Force on reducing burdens on GPs and the Royal pharmaceutical Society's Code of Ethics Working Group.
In 2007 he Joined Rowlands Pharmacy as Commercial Director.
In 2010 he was appointed Managing Director, Numark.
John is married with two children and lives in Cheshire.
